A non-profit organization run by local community members offering events around the arts, education, entertainment, and community building. Our events are open to people in and around Addison Maine, downeast Washington County. Our credo - Be with old friends, meet new people, learn something interesting, and have fun.

Bakery Bingo and Mother’s Day Celebration
Saturday May 9th, 2pm-4pm
We had a great time, with everyone walking out with delicious food. We raised $575, a very successful event. Thank you Tanya Rucosky and Laura Charette (with Gren calling the Bingo balls).

Glory
Thursday June 18th 6pm
An exciting Civil War movie (1995) receiving 95% on Rottentomatoes.. Matthew Broderick is offered command of an African-American regiment. With actors Cary Elwes, Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. At first limited to menial manual tasks, the regiment fights to be placed in the heat of battle.

Father’s Day Picnic
Grills and Corn Hole
Sunday June 21st Noon
Bring your family and friends to enjoy a potluck picnic. Cape Split Schoolhouse will provide hotdogs and hamburgers on an outdoor grill with lots of fixings! Bring a lawn chair, a beverage (beer of course), some additional munchies to share. At 1pm we have a Corn Hole Turney, $5 to play.

Ewe-topia, a paddle adventure to Sheep Island

Pack a picnic lunch and join us for a paddle adventure out to Sheep Island and surrounding coastline. Put in your kayaks/canoes just south of the Cape Split Schoolhouse at the Cape Split Beach, and paddle to the lovely beach at Sheep Island for lunch.

Hear renowned geologist Alicia Marie Cruz-Uribe, professor of Geology at UMaine and head of MAGIC laboratory, talk about how this beautiful part of Maine was created, including the source of our unique granite quarries and how glaciers changed everything.

Our fifth annual Art Show and Sale

This annual festival features artists from our area, live music from bluegrass band Stillwater, and fresh lobster rolls. We offer space for artists to display and sell paintings, sculptures, jewelry, etc. Last year $25,000 raised for artists. Artists interested contact Don at portoluce278@gmail.com

The ill-fated ship to Jaffa

This day in 1866 is the 160th anniversary of the Nellie Chapin ship’s voyage to Jaffa in Palestine. Nearly 100 families joined the effort with promises of utopia, yet found utter disaster. Join Bill Plaskon, President of Jonesport Historical Society, for a discussion and slideshow.

A Grateful Gathering
Giving thanks to our community

Join us for a potluck community feast during this Thanksgiving month. Partake in the annual ringing of the bell atop the Cape Split Schoolhouse. Dedicate your ring to someone or something to give thanks. Bring a guest who may not have been exposed to our events so they can meet new friends. We will request Thanksgiving holiday food items in early November.

Join us for a community skit starring local residents that will be hilarious.

Gather for our annual holiday party. Participants who bring a small gift can join in our Yankee Swap. Our skit will be a group event with singing and terrible acting (well, maybe not if you bring some liquid cheer!). Bring an appetizer and wear something festive! Mingle and be Merry!

· 5 raised money or goods for others – incl $4,000 to Seacoast Mission & Lamb House.
· The art show generated about $25,000 in sales for local artists.
· 12 party and celebration gatherings
· 3 historical presentations and displays including a historical skit (see below for pics)
· 7 movie and popcorn nights
· A run/walk that gathered people from all over Washington County
